Drawing is often overlooked as an artform in and of itself; primarily reserved for "sketches", or "preliminary" processes. It is seen as a basic art form. I see that as drawing's strength. I use basic strokes and basic marks, but include basic images as highly emotional and personal symbols, opening the envelope of my own human identity. Art is best understood as common expression. However we are not all common people. That is why I choose drawing as my primary medium.
The works depicted on this site pertain to a man out of his place. They are reactions to living and working in a strange environment, separated from the basic necessities of communication, beauty, and love; reactions to the feeling of being a visitor.
